Dates will be announced soon as we currently prepare for our launch.
You can get involved in the project in different ways.
- Help run our courses – the Talk English Courses are run and taught by volunteers so if helping people to improve their language is something you enjoy then this could be a good role for you. The courses help people improve their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in English.
- Be a Talk English Friend – we will match people who want to improve their English with a volunteer Talk English Friends who they will meet with regularly to practise speaking English.
- Support Talk English Activities – there will be regular Talk English Activities for people learning English so they can meet others, practise speaking and do something fun and different.
If you are interested in helping others to learn or improve their English and would like to get involved as a volunteer or tutor then please get in touch with Carole – 0161 643 1163, firstname.lastname@example.org, or call in.
As people progress with their English there will be opportunities to progress their learning further through ESOL activities.
The resources have been developed by several local authorities, colleges and training providers working together on the project in Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Bradford, Kirklees, Blackburn with Darwen, Burnley, Hyndburn and Pendle.
