A Basic Awareness of Diabetes course, accredited by Open Awards, took place at the Lighthouse Project over a number of weeks earlier this year, the short course delivered by the Centre of Wellbeing, Training and Culture (CWTC).

The course was attended by some of the staff and volunteers of the Lighthouse Project including some regular visitors.

Dave Melia, Community Development Worker at the Lighthouse Project, said: “The participants were extremely pleased to have achieved the certificate which has enhanced their knowledge in diabetes.”

Mohammed Sarwar, CEO of CWTC, said: “Some of the participants have diabetes themselves and they wanted to find out more about their condition and how to live with it, the feedback received from the course was very positive in that it will help them to manage their condition more appropriately.

Well done to all the participants and thank you to the Lighthouse Project for hosting the course.”

If this, or other courses are of interest to you them please get in touch with the Lighthouse Project team and we’ll see what is available to you.
