Heywood Model Railway group

Heywood Model Railway GroupĀ – This is a group that is based at the Lighthouse Project where they have their club meeting room. The group meets several times a week sometimes during the day and sometimes in the evening.

The model group moved to Middleton when they came to the Lighthouse Project and since they set up their new base they have been able to grow and expand their membership. In March 2012 the Lighthouse Project hosted the Heywood Model Railway GroupĀ to run their annual model railway exhibition over a weekend, this was a great success and was attended by well over 800 visitors.

We support the work of the group through encouragement, joint working and promotion of their activities within the community and the Lighthouse.

The group continued to grow and they eventually needed more space for their expanding layouts so in 2014 they moved out of the Lighthouse Project and moved into new and larger premises back in Heywood where they began. We wish them well and are pleased that we were able to support them through an unsettled time, but are pleased that they continue to grow which is what Inspire Middleton is about.

If you visit their website you can see where they are and what they are currently up to.
