Veterans in the Community

VIC logo 2015This is a weekly drop-in outreach service, held at the Lighthouse Project on a Wednesday between 11:30am – 1:30 pm, that is open to all veterans and their families.

The aim of the Veterans Outreach Service is to engage with the Armed Forces communities living in Greater Manchester.

The VIC outreach service is primarily a sign posting service. We work with many of the ex-service charities, public, and third sector organisations in the North-west. It is through our working relationships and networks that we can refer on to the appropriate service or services.

Veterans In Communities (VIC) is an ex-services charity set up to support serving, ex-service personnel, their families and members of the uniformed services who have experienced difficulties with transitioning back into the community on leaving the services.

VIC recognises that the needs of ex-service personnel and their family are varied and in some cases complex. It may require a number of organisations to provide the support required. Outreach services allow them to access support locally in non-threatening and
non-clinical environments.
