I came to the Lighthouse Project to use the computers and for searching for work. Whenever I needed help with job searching I always asked one of the volunteers or team members and they were always there. My CV was not that good when I first came but they helped me with some changes. I kept up with my job searching and after a while I was invited for a job interview. Before I went for my interview one of the volunteers helped me to prepare by giving me a mock interview. When I went for the actual interview I passed it and now I have a job as a support worker in a nursing home. Thank you Lighthouse for all your help. Lauren M – Aug 2013
Having completed my Universal Jobmatch course I have learn’t a lot form the course. The tutor was very clear about her work and knew what she was talking about. Frederick F – Sept 2013
I have only praise to say about the Lighthouse Project. when I first attended I could not even work a computer, but with guidance and training from the staff and volunteers I have now learnt to use a computer. With my new skills I have been able to look for jobs, send emails, cut and paste and search the internet for information. If I have problems, I know that I can depend on the help and support of the staff and volunteers to find a solution. As a result I am now back in work! David P – April 2014
Debra Madden – Lighthouse Project “The Lighthouse Project in just one year has excelled in supporting and inspiring so many people in the local community often those in greatest need. The project now is becoming a busy, thriving , social and learning hub for those who have discovered it due to the teams enthusiasm. On a personal level I have really enjoyed being hosted by the centre and experiencing the growth of the service and its members. I hope that the project can continue to be supported so that it can grow and develop for many years to come.” Debra Madden ~ Mental Health Practitioner, RMBC, Community Therapy and Wellbeing Service

So a BIG thank you to every one of them from us all!

I joined the Middleton Photography group about 18 months ago and have really enjoyed the times I have spent with the group. I have learned how to use a digital camera on manual settings etc, and have taken some good pictures on our outings and whilst at the club. We have also learnt about Photoshop.
The Lighthouse Project is a fantastic place with lovely people. I feel that more could be done to advertise the place to reach more people as I didn’t find out about it until I retired from work.
I wish the project much success and hope it keeps going for many years.

I became unemployed for the first time in my life in August of last year due to redundancy. I have worked for over 37 years so this was a very daunting experience for me.
Carl, Carole, Liz and all the staff at the Lighthouse Project gave me confidence through the weekly workshops they run to apply for jobs.
I picked up new computer skills which otherwise would not have been possible. I’m now back in work.
Just to say a big thank you for all the kindness you showed me and keep up the good work helping the communities of Middleton and Rochdale.
