Chris Furlong runs-for-funds fundraising challenge
Middleton councillor Chris Furlong is running 3 marathons in 3 countries for 3 local charities in just 3 months – outstanding.
Chris brought the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, down to the Lighthouse Project and Middleton Central foodbank early in March, to show him around, to tell him about our work and to build up support for the three marathons that he will be running over the next few months to raise funds for charities close to his heart, one of which is our Middleton Central foodbank.
Andy thought that the facilities and the work of the Lighthouse Project and the foodbank are brilliant, and having formerly worked as a reporter in Middleton he is especially supportive of community led initiatives.
Please consider supporting Chris in his efforts and in turn help three great local charities to boot. If you would like to donate, please visit just giving here;
The money raised to be shared equally between Heywood & Middleton Foodbanks and the Mayors homelessness charity.
Chris has now completed his first marathon, in Wrexham on 11th March, see these great pictures, just two more to go…. the next one is the Greater Manchester marathon on sunday 8th April, please give him your support.
